In 2016, the UN declared that access to Internet is a basic human right. Yet, half the world remains offline. Half of the world is denied access to basic life services, tools and knowledge critical to entering the digital economy and benefiting from life-enhancing opportunities.
What can innovators, and the VCs backing them, do in order to even the playing field? This discussion features startups who are innovating for good - from BRCK who is creating solutions to Africa’s connectivity problems or what3words who created a new addressing standard used in informal settlements, such as refugee camps, to better access services or aid.
We’ll discuss the impact these technologies are having on developing nations or areas, along with digging into the business side of impact investing.
