There’s more to Black culture than fashion, music, and sports. Our preoccupation on "marketing to minorities” misses the incredible impact minorities have had on “majority” marketing. I will explore how everything from Black parenting styles to Black tourism trends and more have impacted “majority marketing”. This talk will explore the thin line between getting it and veering into exploitation & appropriation. In addition, I'll explore the shifting dynamics in how we as consumers choose to label ourselves and how brands must respond to the new agency users have.
