Hacking an Election in 2020

The U.S. lags behind much of the world in elections security and voting technology. It also lags behind in voter turnout and engagement, despite being one of the world's most vibrant democracies. Why is America's election infrastructure so vulnerable and turnout so low, and what can we do about it? This panel will bring together cybersecurity experts and voting activists to explain how our election systems can be improved and what are alternatives methods of voting. There are already new developments in voting underway, from voting on blockchain to vote-by-mail. This session will review voting reforms already in motion and pathways to reform in the future. In a perfect world, we should all want elections that are both safe and convenient.
