The Posies

Date TBA

Squirrel vs. Snake

The Posies, formed by then-teens Jon Auer & Ken Stringfellow in 1988, emerged into international prominence almost immediately, with a home recording they called "Failure", self-released on cassette. "Failure" was picked up by radio and press and it wasn't long before Geffen records snapped up the band. Since then, they have released seven more albums, including “Frosting on the Beater” from 1993 which contained their breakthrough single “Dream All Day”, and is namechecked as an all-time favorite by a diverse list of musicians from Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol) to Ed O’Brien (Radiohead) to James Alex (Beach Slang) to Queen Latifah. The band continues to tour globally and release music to a devoted fanbase, who revere the band for their peerless melodic gifts, thoughtful and intricate lyrics, and penchant for vocal harmony. Their live shows (with drummer Frankie Siragusa) are known to be high energy affairs where the sweetness of their vocal interplay collides head on with distorted guitars, explosive drums, and now, in the modern age, computer assisted electronic rhythms and textures. They are currently working on their ninth album.
