The Colours That Rise

Home Time

Comprised of producer duo Simeon Jones and Nathanael Williams, The Colours That Rise have previously turned heads with 2017’s “2020” EP released on Breaker Breaker (the label credited with breaking Ross From Friends).
Broadcasting signals from the darkest corners of the solar system, they generate lo-fi funk with an electronic city pace, brought to you in both lo and high fidelity.

Both hailing from the UK, The Colours That Rise found their sound in South London. Although The Colours That Rise wouldn’t classify themselves as jazz or any other genre, they borrow and reverberate these sounds and beats from around the capital, and the world whilst being predominately focused on telling a story.

With their debut ‘information album’ due out in 2020 on Rhythm Section, their first single “Home Time” is heady brew of crisp, driving drums, psychedelic electronics and cruising synth lines. Full of atmospheric textures and cosmic soundscapes the track provides a taster of what’s to come in earth’s not too distant dystopian future.

Expect 70’s funk, hip-hop and lo-fi electronic jams through a disjointed world of broken tape machines and conspiracy theories.
