Come On

Bird Streets is the alter ego of songwriter John Brodeur. The project was born in 2016, when Brodeur teamed up with producer Jason Falkner (Beck, Jellyfish, Daniel Johnston) to record some of his new songs. The album yielded by this pairing is both fresh and familiar—a dynamic collection of introspective indie-rock and power-pop that draws liberally on the music of decades past without being bluntly nostalgic. The self-titled debut LP, released by Los Angeles-based Omnivore Recordings, received great praise from fans and critics, was named to numerous year-end lists, and earned the attention of NPR Music, who highlighted Bird Streets in their Slingshot program, a spotlight on emerging talent. Debut single “Betting on the Sun” received nationwide airplay on tastemaker stations like KCRW, WXPN, WFUV, and WEQX. The non-album single “Come On” followed in summer 2019. Live, Bird Streets has recorded sessions for Daytrotter and BreakThru Radio, and recently wrapped a summer tour with iconic indie rocker Juliana Hatfield. Brodeur is currently working on new recordings with producer Patrick Sansone (Wilco, the Autumn Defense).
