There’s no argument; Seattle is best known for it’s rock music. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney, and Jimi Hendrix have all illuminated dive bars and rock clubs and burned themselves into music history. But over the past two decades, slowly but surely, the city has given birth to a fertile, untapped community of singers and rappers whose individual, free-wheeling voices only shared characteristic is their wild diversity. One of Seattle’s brightest voices is twenty-one-year-old Parisalexa, a singer-songwriter and producer who’s out to prove that she may just be the future of pop R&B.
