Bobby Oroza
Bobby Oroza crafts his output with a respectful nod towards the Chicano lowrider sound. Always with an air of crude romanticism, this emerging talent from Finland shifts the borders between soul music and rock balladry. Bobby’s dark and intimate debut single ‘This Love’ reached the ears and hearts of a worldwide soul music community and was sampled by US rapper Earl Sweatshirt.
Last year he released his first album on Brooklyn based label Big Crown Records (home of Lee Fields, El Michel Affair...) with behind him on stage and in studio, the recent Timmion Records house band Cold Diamond & Mink. Led by Jukka Sarapää and Sami Kantelinen of The Soul Investigators fame (as well as founders of Timmion Records), the group has previously worked with Myron & E, recording for Stones Throw and also with afrobeat legends Orlando Julius, Tony Allen and with Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators to name a few.
