In the late fall of 2019, slip - aka Los Angeles based artist Taylor Brown -
released his debut album ‘ the cost . ’
The album is both meditative and impactful — traversing amongst the
hypnotic rhythms of t r ip hop pioneers Massive At tack and Portishead, the ominous narratives of Nick Cave, while inject ing his own brand of groove based production — slip emerges with an album that is fresh, engaging, and funky.
slip has garnered a slow boiling buzz while releasing singles “head on
backwards, ” “ the patient , ” “ the optimist , ” and “ the thought of a past life is comforting” over the past two years. Now, it is time to view the artist’s work with a wider lens, to piece the puzzle together .
