Bleaker is an alternative-grunge pop duo formed in late 2018 in Birmingham, Alabama. The duo consists of Emily McEvoy (guitar and vocals) and Jake Driver (drums and vocals). Bleaker’s sound is eclectic in that the duo incorporates a variety of differing genres into their music. Heavily influenced by mid 80’s post-punk and the arena-filled riffs of the 90’s, Bleaker creates a sound that is reminiscent of early Nirvana paired with jangle-pop/post-punk groups such as Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Cure. Their transparency in lyricism and thoughtfully written guitar/drum hooks are what have made Bleaker successful in their craft.
