With a brand-new perspective, influenced by rock and punk, as well as by trap and cumbia, Enrique Campos has become the new face of tango, leaving behind the old stereotypes associated with this traditional genre.
“In my view, tango is a way of expressing myself. I love being able to play with all those tumultuous feelings present in the songs, and make them come alive again. I am respectful of the genre, but I do not feel the need to approach it with reverence. If someone wants to listen to tango in a traditional way, I might not be the artist to look for, but if you want to listen to those songs and feel that music alive and full of passion, I am your guy.”
In 2018, Enrique recorded his first album called “Roto”. The album was nominated to de Gardel awards in Argentina, and to the Latin Grammy as best tango album.
