Basil Tsiokos is a Programming Associate for the Sundance Film Festival, Film Program Director for the Nantucket Film Festival, and Director of Programming for DOC NYC. He teaches a course at Pratt on film festivals and oversees Wallabout, a student short film festival. Basil co-produced the feature documentary THE CANAL STREET MADAM (World Premiere, SXSW Competition 2010). He was the Artistic and Executive Director of NewFest: The NY LGBT Film Festival between 1996-2008. Basil writes about documentaries daily at what (not) to doc and via Twitter @1basil1. He holds a Masters degree from New York University and two undergraduate degrees from Stanford University.
