David Ring
Prior to moving to Austin Dr. Ring was Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School, Chief of Hand Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, and Chair of the MGH Orthopedic Quality and Patient Safety Committee. He was awarded a PhD for clinical research in psychosocial aspects of arm pain from the University of Amsterdam in 2005. He has over 500 peer-reviewed original research publications and speaks internationally on the importance of resiliency for good health. He came to Dell Medical School – The University of Texas at Austin as Associate Dean for Comprehensive Care to help develop ways to enhance resiliency as part of how people in Austin get and stay healthy. He develops and investigates uses of technology to make care more accessible, compassionate, and intuitive.
