Darryl Ballantyne

Darryl Ballantyne founded LyricFind in 2004 with Mohamed Moutadayne and Chris Book. They pioneered the licensed digital lyrics space, signing the first mass lyrics licensing deal with EMI Music Publishing in 2005. Darryl has overseen LF’s growth into the world’s largest lyrics provider. LF’s clients include Google, YouTube, Amazon & Pandora. LF has executed long-term licensing deals with over 10,000 music publishers. An authority on licensing & digital content, he regularly speaks at industry events across the globe. Prior to LyricFind, Darryl was Manager of Digital Development & Distribution at EMI Music in LA, where he was involved in negotiating deals with firms such as Yahoo, Napster, and iTunes. He earned a Bachelor of Mathematics & a Business minor from the University of Waterloo.
