M. Alejandra Parra-Orlandoni
M. Alejandra Parra-Orlandoni is an Associate General Counsel at QuantumBlack, an advanced analytics firm within McKinsey operating at the intersection of strategy, technology, and design. Alejandra advises stakeholders on legal, policy, and risk matters relating to AI/ML, privacy, and data use, and she leads special projects on ethical AI. Prior to joining QuantumBlack, Alejandra was an associate attorney at Gunderson Dettmer and Arnold & Porter, where she advised companies from a broad spectrum of technology industries. Alejandra also conducted research for Harvard Law School’s Program on International Law and Armed Conflict and served in DoD’s Office of the General Counsel, where she advised on autonomous weapons policy and DoD’s sexual assault response program.
Before attending law school, she served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy, during which she completed two deployments and worked on designing behaviors for autonomous underwater vehicles. Alejandra holds a JD from Harvard Law, MS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, and BS in Control Systems Engineering from the US Naval Academy. When she isn’t working, she is spending time with family, painting and drawing, or playing with her dog.
