Svetlana Matt
Svetlana Matt serves as a Legislative Assistant in the Office of Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-09), where she handles technology and telecommunications policy and the Congressman’s work on the House Energy and Commerce Committee (including his work on the Communications and Technology subcommittee and the Consumer Protection and Commerce subcommittee). She also handles the Congressman’s work in his role as co-chair of both the Congressional Artificial Intelligence Caucus and the Congressional Wi-Fi Caucus. Additionally, Svetlana co-leads the Congressional Tech Staff Association, a bipartisan and bicameral organization for staffers who work on tech policy on Capitol Hill. Svetlana’s experience includes working at the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, and the World Bank. She holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and a B.A. in Economics and International Political Economy from the University of Puget Sound. Having grown up in Silicon Valley and worked in different parts of the federal government, she brings a unique perspective to tackling issues at the intersection of tech, law, and policy.
