Jakub Marszałkowski
One of the founders and member of the Board of the Indie Games Polska Foundation, a developer organization in Poland. He takes care of cooperation with foreign associations and organizers of conferences and trade fairs as the ambassador and promoter of Polish games abroad. With IGP he conducted several projects: the presence of Poland at expos and conferences like booths or delegations, travel scholarships, game jams, promotion of Polish games, or visits of foreign delegations in Poland. Honored with the Annual Award of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in the category Digital Culture, as an organizer and promoter working for game developers. Regularly serving as a spokesperson for Polish game industry or even CEE region.
The head of the Game Industry Conference in Poznań. Started 10 years ago as a student meetup, it was developed into the biggest and most significant event in Central and Eastern Europe. The last edition held in 2019 had 3,600 participants, 640 companies and over 120 lectures, panels, roundtables, and workshops.
Researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science at the Poznan University of Technology. Awarded scholarship of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for Ph.D. students for outstanding achievements. Holds Ph.D. in technical sciences in the field of information science, with distinction and Doctor Euroapeus' Mention, so far the only one in the history of this faculty. The topics of his publications include combinatorial optimization, distributed computing, internet applications and video games. Teaches game design, supervises students projects every year, runs game jams and other events.
