Kate Krantz
Kate Krantz is the Chief Content Officer for Crypt TV. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Kate came to LA by way of Chicago, attending UCLA to major in English and minor in film. Krantz began her career at WME before moving to Walt Disney Studios in live action production. Two years of working at Disney and learning the power of emotionally anchored IP gave Krantz the understanding of how to build franchises and the vision to see where digital was ripe for disruption through character focused, IP storytelling.
As Chief Content Officer for Crypt, Krantz is responsible for the development and growth of all of Crypt's monster universe - from its origination on social media where Crypt has scored over 1.5 billion worldwide views to its growth to long form series with Netflix, Facebook and more. With an emphasis on socially relevant, scare-based character IP, Crypt’s content has spawned deep fandom around empowering human characters, largely shining a light on the female experience. Crypt’s focus on building “Marvel for Monsters” is grounded by content values that give strength and agency to human characters and a belief that there is always a path to good.
Krantz also serves on UCLA's Industry Advisory Cabinet, at the forefront of designing tangible solutions and innovative opportunities for UCLA alumni and students. With an academic focus, she works with the university to bolster curriculum to provide a more thorough overview of educational needs to set students up for industry success.
