Sofi Hersher
Sofi Hersher is the assistant communications director at the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, the public policy and social justice hub of the largest denomination of Judaism in North America, where she oversees communications, design, and all major technology infrastructure projects. Sofi holds a Master's Degree in Religion in the Contemporary World from King's College London and a Bachelors Degree in Comparative Religion from the University of Washington. Sofi's graduate dissertation, called "Interfaith Monologue: A Study of UK-based Interfaith Work on Twitter," focused on the intersection of religion and the internet, specifically the use of interactive and discursive online mediums for interfaith or other religious means. Sofi previously served as Global Brand Manager at Twitter, Inc. and in various leadership and fellowship capacities for the Inter Faith Network for the UK, the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, the Freedom Forum Institute (formerly the Newseum's Religious Freedom Center), and with several interfaith groups in the Washington, DC area. She currently serves as treasurer of the board of directors of Exhale Pro-Voice, an after-abortion care and support organization using consumer technology to create a community where each person’s unique experience with abortion is supported, respected and free from stigma.
