Connie Moon Sehat

Research Lead
Credibility Coalition

Connie's current role allows her to address the challenges of perspectives and misinformation around news quality. As Research Community Lead of the Credibility Coalition, she supports the research projects that develop a vocabulary around credible content, specifically an indicator schema that enables the assessment of reliable information in news articles. Overall, Connie’s work has focused on the intersections of computing and democratic life, whether dissertating in German history, developing International Space Station software, or working on projects like the bibliographic Zotero (zotero.org), the New Orleans Research Collaborative (nolaresearch.org), ELMO (election, human rights, and health monitoring at getelmo.org) and most recently directing NewsFrames at Global Voices (newsframes.globalvoices.org). Previously, she has worked for The Carter Center, Emory University, and The Center for History and New Media at George Mason University.
