Thuy-An Julien

Thuy-An Julien is a Grammy award-winning entertainment and media executive, with over 20 years experience at the intersection of music and technology. Her cutting-edge vision for technology's potential, coupled with her passion for music, have made her a go-to person for moving music forward.

Ms. Julien is the Head of Artist Promotions at UnitedMasters. UnitedMasters is an artist services company that champions independence for all musicians. Using proprietary data and technology, coupled with a deep expertise in music and marketing, UnitedMasters helps artists get smart, get fans, and get paid. She's also head of Hartman's House, LLC, a management company for musicians, where she and her team set artists free to be creative while managing all other aspects of their careers. Focusing on how artists can be successful while staying independent, she is working with a group of artists who share this vision.

Previously, as President of HipHopDX, a Hip Hop Media company, she helped shape the brand’s strategy for growth and success introducing new products, Rap Rising at SXSW, Soulful Sundays as well as revamping existing products.

Responsible for market and growth development at Dash Radio, she successfully built audiences, brands, and profits.

She blazed new trails at Apple for 15 years in a variety of critical roles. She headed up original content brands in North America for iTunes. She also created the Urban Marketing department. The Urban Marketing department grew awareness of the iTunes brand in the urban community, and made iTunes more accessible to the urban audience via non-traditional marketing avenues.

Before Apple, she was the technology director for Time Inc. New Media, technology manager for Condé Nast Publications, Associated Press, and Sports Illustrated.

Ms. Julien's combination of musical passion, human warmth and technological vision make her a person with answers in the ever-changing world where music and technology intersect.
