Jeffrey Meisel
Jeff Meisel is a Visiting Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School's Shorenstein Center, and a Senior Fellow at UC Berkeley supporting Census-related efforts. Previously, he completed a three-year stint as the Chief Marketing Officer of the U.S. Census Bureau from 2015-2018. Prior to that role, he was a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow during the Obama Administration, and acting Chief Data Officer of the Department of Commerce. Notable projects at Census included launching the Data Visualization practice area, CitySDK open-source project (recognized as the Federal Innovation of the Year), and the Civic Digital Fellowship with Coding it Forward (funded in part by the Knight Foundation) to revolutionize how tech talent is brought to government. He also brings a decade of experience in the private sector at National Instruments (NASDAQ: NATI).
