Gayatri Parameswaran

Gayatri Parameswaran is an award winning immersive journalist from India who believes in the power of stories to transform. She co-runs an immersive storytelling studio in Berlin called NowHere Media specialising in documentaries and social impact.

She has used immersive technologies to explore intimate and taboo topics such as war, peace, intimate partner violence and abortion. Gayatri is most excited to work with virtual reality as a medium to explore creating realities for a desirable future.

Gayatri has worked in over 30 countries and regions, including Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Myanmar, India, Mexico, Nicaragua and the United States. Her immersive works have been exhibited at the Venice International Film Festival, SXSW, United Nations, Zentrum für Kunst und Medien, Bergen International Film Festival and beyond. Her journalistic reports have been published in Al Jazeera English, Deutsche Welle, Narratively, The Caravan and more.
