Bronlynn Thurman is the Program Associate for GAR Foundation and John S. and James L. Knight Foundation in Akron, Ohio. At Knight, Bronlynn supports the Akron strategy of investment in public life and the public realm to attract and engage new residents, with a focus on downtown and surrounding neighborhoods. At GAR, Bronlynn supports the foundation’s mission to help Akron become smarter, stronger, and more vibrant through work in our Systemic Solutions and Community Programs areas. Through her involvement with both foundations, Bronlynn sits on the Akron core team and co-leads the communications committee for Reimagining the Civic Commons, a national initiative that seeks to counteract economic and social fragmentation by revitalizing and connecting public spaces.
Bronlynn earned her Bachelor of Science in advertising with an emphasis on design, and a double minor in psychology and marketing from Kent State University. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in User Experience Design at Kent State University.
