Mary Wutz
Mary Wutz has traveled the world studying plant medicine, with a focus on Plant Spirit Medicine. Mary’s studies and training throughout the Caribbean, Nepal, Peru, and Hawaii as a phytotherapist and herbalist have provided her with a deep understanding of plant chemistry, and the powerful healing and medicinal properties of plants and herbs.
Through her personal healing journey with Autoimmune Disease and Parasitic infections, she has established a background integrating both traditional and modern approaches. She has studied traditional Plant Medicine and Shamanic traditions, including 10 years in Peruvian Shipibo Amazonian Plant Medicine, and is currently studying Hawaiian La ’au Lapa ’au with elders in the tradition. She has studied Clinical Western Herbalism under pre-eminent Herbalist David Hoffman, Ph.D., and Rosemary Gladstar.
Her experiences merged with a mission to spread awareness about plant-based remedies in the creation of medicinal clothing label Seam Siren. Mary currently works with her label to empower consumers to understand that their everyday choices have the ability to positively affect the health and quality of their lives, as well as the lives of others.
Mary has been a guest speaker, teacher and panelist at events including The International Herb Symposium, Fashion Revolution, and The Fibershed Wool & Fine Fiber Symposium. She continues learning within the plant-based wisdom traditions she practices and is passionate about spreading awareness about these modalities of healing and creating beauty in the world.
