Tahir Imin
Tahir Imin is a Uighur academic at the Uighur Freedom Institute and the Uighur Times Agency based in Washington DC. He is dedicated to highlighting the Uighur crisis through his media outlet, speaking to the media, and encouraging Uighurs to make their voices heard through the media. He is a former prisoner of conscience (2005-2007) and worked as an entrepreneur before leaving his homeland in February 2017. Tahir has initiated several public campaigns such as the Uyghur Doppa Cultural Festival, the Uyghur Science Forum and the business association "30 Gentlemen and 9 Women".
