Daresha Kyi writes, produces and directs film and television in Spanish & English. She works in many genres and mediums including documentary and narrative. In 2017 she co-directed & co-produced Chavela, an award winning film that was distributed by Music Box Films nationally and shown in over 42 countries. She is currently producing and directing MAMA BEARS, a feature length documentary about the many ways in which the lives of conservative, Christian mothers are utterly transformed when they decide to accept their LGBTQ children. Kimberly and Kai Shappley join Sara Cunningham, who recently went viral for offering to serve as a "stand-in mom" at same sex weddings where the biological refused to attend, and a widely diverse group of moms in this timely, moving film.
