Sheila Marikar
Sheila Marikar, a writer based in Los Angeles, is a regular contributor to the New Yorker, the New York Times, Fortune, Elle Decor, Bloomberg Businessweek, and other publications. As a generalist, she covers a broad range of subjects, but she tends to focus on people, places, and things that are blipping onto the mainstream radar. She coined the term "slash generation," chronicled the rise of talent agents for social media stars as the industry was finding its feet, and recently wrote about how Rent the Runway is changing the way working women think about business attire. She is also currently at work on her first novel, about millennial denizens of the gig economy.
