Jeff Yang
A veteran author and cultural critic, Jeff Yang is the co-host (with Phil "Angry Asian Man" Yu) of the podcast They Call Us Bruce. By day, he's west coast Head of Cultural Strategy for Sparks & Honey, an Omnicom-owned startup that uses big data analysis of social and online media to understand and predict cultural disruptions and opportunities. He can be read as a featured op-ed columnist for CNN Online and is a regular contributor to NPR and Quartz, the business publication of The Atlantic Monthly. He was the founder of the pioneering Asian American periodical aMagazine: Inside Asian America, and has authored and edited a number of bestselling books, including Eastern Standard Time; I Am Jackie Chan: My Life in Action (the international action hero's official autobiography); Once Upon a Time in China; and the graphic novel collections, Secret Identities, Shattered, and New Frontiers: The Many Worlds of George Takei. Yang has two children, Hudson, age 14, and Skyler, age 9. Hudson can be seen on ABC TV as the star of the groundbreaking Asian American family comedy Fresh Off the Boat, now in its fourth season.
