Kim Lavery, a thirty-year veteran in the film, technology and visual effects industry, started with an NBC news affiliate as a news videographer/editor and then a Today Show news anchor. She shifted into film with Universal Studios Operations in LA which led to film Visual Effects IP with Major VFX Studios.

Kim has been instrumental in building out specialized visual effects boutique studios, then joined Peter Jackson’s Weta Digital in New Zealand and is currently working with global Gentle Giant Studios/3D Systems. She oversees crew and technology across North America, in the UK & EU, and soon to be down-under.

Credits include: 2019 Academy Award Nominee Solo: Star Wars, Episode XI, Mandalorian, Avatar, The Voyage of Dr. Dolittle, Maleficent 2, 2005 Academy Award Winning King Kong, X-Men 3, Bridge to Terabithia, 30 Days of Night, Enchanted, Terminator 3, Frida, Cats & Dogs, Dune, Walt Disney Pictures new corporate logo 2006, and many others.

Kim is an awarded VES Founder & VES Fellow; and serves on the LA Board of Directors. She is also a member of Friends of ASC, SMPTE, Planes of Fame, New England Air Museum & NZ Women in Aviation.
