Lior Phillips

Lior Phillips is a South African music and culture journalist and the host of This Must Be the Gig—a podcast dedicated to the origin stories behind the passion for live music and performance from some of the world’s biggest artists, comedians, actors, and organizers. Lior has crossed the globe, photographing and reporting on music festivals and other major events for a variety of music outlets. She also writes about art, music, film, dance, travel, and more for international publications including Dazed and Confused Magazine, Consequence of Sound, Billboard, GQ South Africa, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NPR, The Guardian, and Variety. She is currently based in Chicago, though has lived and worked for the previous few years in Tel Aviv.
