After working on USC college classmate John Singleton’s "Boyz N’ The Hood", Straus worked in Hollywood as a writer briefly before climbing his way up to the executive ranks at New Line Cinema. After leaving the studio, he set up his own production company at Sony based Circle of Confusion. His first film "The Man"starred Samuel L. Jackson and Eugene Levy. He also produced two Sundance selections ("Weapons" & "Red") and a Tribeca film ("The Last Rites of Joe May"). His fifth film "Straight Outta Compton" broke box office records and was widely acclaimed.
In 2011 Bill moved back to his hometown Brooklyn, New York and launched domestic sales banner Bridge Independent. He has sold films out of SXSW, Sundance, Toronto, Tribeca and many other major film festivals. Bill endeavors to focus on quality over quantity and put an emphasis on client attentiveness.
