Alex Torrez
Alex Torrez came off the road in 1995 as a touring drummer to take a position as Director of A&R for Sony Records working in a creative capacity with the careers of the Dixie Chicks, Patty Loveless, Joe Diffie and others.
In 1997 he was brought on as Sr. Director of A&R position for DKC Records under the direction of Producer Don Cook working with such artist as Brooks and Dunn, Joe Diffie, Alabama, The Mavericks, Tracy Lawrence and others.
During his run with Sony Music Alex secured over 40 major record label chart-topping singles recorded by artists like Martina McBride, the Dixie Chicks, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban. He was recently responsible for placing Ronnie Dunn’s “Single of the Year” Grammy nominated song “Cost Of Living” and Top 10 single for Tracy Lawrence on a song called “Lie”
In 2004, Alex launched his own record label Name Records with award-winning songwriter/artist Troy Johnson. While working with the label Alex was contacted by Gibson Guitars to oversee the Entertainment Relations Division headquartered in Nashville, as a Marketing executive to develop a variety of co-branding opportunities worldwide.
Alex recently ran companies for Tracy Lawrance at Lawrence Music Group and Dallas Davidson’s Play It Again Music where he headed up the Record Label division and oversaw all aspects of the label that included Radio Promotion, Social Media and Marketing, Publicity, Distribution, Fulfillment and Merch, plus all design and branding aspects of the company.
Now fully concentrating on his own company Torrez Music Group, Alex heads up his label, management, publishing companies overseeing his clients Shotgun Rider, Jamie Lin Wilson, Kylie Rae Harris and new comers Triston Marez and Gabe Lee
