Julia Stamman is a licensed professional counselor-intern who specializes in helping self-identified gamers, geeks, and misfits. She is not going to judge you for spending thousands of dollars on cosplay, going to 24-hour movie marathons, being closer to your online guild than people IRL, or going to burns. In therapy, Julia takes a collaborative approach to focus on the things you do want to change in your life such as trouble expressing your feelings effectively, social anxiety, or having support in living a life that’s outside of mainstream culture. She also explores themes such as being neurodiverse (having ADHD or Autism or Asperger’s), your relationship with gaming or internet use, or job stress working in the tech industry. Julia works with adults of all ages, genders, races, faiths or lack thereof, cultural backgrounds, and sexual or romantic identities. Her approach to therapy is client-centered, relational, trauma-informed, and focuses on challenging you with warmth and curiosity.
