Heidi Hoover serves as Head of Office for FIT Houston where she is responsible for providing consulting and business development services to Flemish companies that are pursuing commercial interests in the United States and conversely assists American companies wishing to discover investment opportunities in the Flanders region of Belgium. Over the past 14 years she has worked with a large number of companies from a variety of industries. Prior to moving to Houston in July 2016, she specialized in the US food and beverage industry as the Director of Trade in the New York office. The studies and articles she has written on FDA Labeling Law, FSMA, the US Beer Industry and the US Specialty Food Industry have been some the organizations most downloaded products. Additionally, she was responsible for UN procurement related requests and inquiries. She is a former board member for the European Union Procurement Forum and served as a moderator featuring speakers from UNPD, DFS and UNICEF on ICT Communication and Software during their annual 3-day seminars.
Heidi has also worked in the private sector in a variety of marketing roles, mainly with an international focus prior to her involvement with Flanders Investment & Trade. She holds an MBA from Richmond, The American University in London (London-UK) and a BA in Marketing from Cedarville University (OH-USA). She currently resides in Houston where she spends most of her down time getting to know her new city, visiting galleries and museums, cooking, crafting and having adventures with her rescue Mini-Schnauzer, Mr. Gibbs. Heidi originally hails from Wyalusing, PA and is fiercely proud of her country roots, and loves to get back there every chance she gets.
