Mike Krieger

Mike Krieger is an entrepreneur and the co-founder of Instagram. While at Instagram, Mike served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), where he focused on building a broad range of creative products to empower the community to connect with their interests and passions. In doing so, Mike played an integral role in Instagram’s rapid growth and helped scale the community to over one billion monthly users. Additionally, as CTO, Mike grew the engineering organization to more than 450 employees across Instagram’s offices located in Menlo Park, San Francisco, and New York.

Outside of his work at Instagram, Mike and his wife, Kaitlyn, founded the Future Justice Fund (FJF), a grantmaking organization that supports groups and individuals working towards a vision of opportunity and justice for all. Since launching in 2015, FJF has supported a variety projects and organizations, with a current focus on criminal justice reform and income security.

Mike is a native of São Paulo, Brazil and speaks fluent Portuguese. He holds an MS in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University and currently lives in San Francisco.
