Deric Ortiz
Deric Ortiz is a successful entrepreneur and innovator who has worked in the gaming and esports industries since 2014. Ortiz paved the way for GEICO, a non-endemic company at the time, to engage with the gaming industry through tournaments, team sponsorships and onsite activations by architecting their initial and ongoing gaming initiatives. Additionally, Ortiz was formally retained as a gaming consultant for T-Mobile’s executive leadership and was instrumental in shaping T-Mobile’s initial gaming activations. He has also been responsible for helping companies like eBay, Skype, Soylent, and Red Bull enter and iterate within the gaming industry. Now, Ortiz runs Advocate. Advocate is gaming's leading self-service SaaS platform that helps brands, teams and agencies manage sponsorships across an infinite number of streams in real time. Ortiz graduated from George Washington University's Juris Doctor program and previously worked in patent approval.
