Panshu Zhao

Growing up in China, Panshu loved America. When the opportunity to attend Texas A&M become available he thought his dreams came true. While pursuing his doctorate degree, he volunteered for the Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI) program and enlisted in the Army. Then in 2018, he was one of at least 40 soldiers that was discharged without justification. His story was featured on NPR and made national headlines. Now he is afraid that his life is threatened if he returns to China.
