Michael Starr

Michael Starr is the Senior Director of National Promotion for GLASSNOTE RECORDS, and is lucky enough to be based here in Austin for the NY-based label, led by Daniel Glass.

Starr has been with the label since 2011, and has played a vital role in building and nurturing Glassnote's promotion team in the U.S., alongside Head of Promotion, Nick Petropoulos.

GLASSNOTE is the home of MUMFORD & SONS, PHOENIX, CHVRCHES, ROBERT DELONG, TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB, JADE BIRD, THE STRUMBELLAS, MANSIONAIR, DYLAN CARTLIDGE, and more.

Their promotion team is also responsible for breaking CHILDISH GAMBINO's "Redbone" across multiple radio formats.

Michael has over 25 years of music industry experience (he's also a drummer!). In the 90s, he ran a record store in college, and came up through the distribution ranks at WEA, EMD, and BMG. In 2001, he began his promotion career for Wind-up Records where he played an integral part in the success of bands like Seether, Evanescence, Drowning Pool, Finger Eleven and others. He counts his blessings every day for the opportunity to be a part of this industry for so many years...AND he gets to live in Austin!
