Heather Caygle
Heather Caygle has worked as a Capitol Hill reporter for POLITICO since 2014. Since 2016, she has almost exclusively reported on House Democrats -- from the ins-and-outs of leadership battles to attempts by various lawmakers to exert their influence as the party tries to define itself in the Donald-Trump-era. Caygle added a new area to her portfolio in 2018 -- covering the record number of women running for Congress and governorships and their challenges and successes in a political climate defined both by Trump and the #MeToo movement. Before coming to POLITICO, Caygle was a congressional reporter for Bloomberg BNA. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a master’s degree in journalism from American University in Washington, D.C.
