Anu Partanen is the author of “The Nordic Theory of Everything: In Search of a Better Life,” the widely-reviewed 2016 book that makes an innovative case for why the United States needs to adopt Nordic-style social policies. She is a journalist originally from Finland who has lived and worked in the U.S. for more than a decade. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Atlantic and numerous other publications. She has been a regular commentator on the BBC radio program Business Matters, and she has worked at Fortune Magazine as a visiting reporter through the Innovation Journalism Fellowship at Stanford University. In Finland she has held many positions ranging from managing editor to columnist, features writer to news reporter, lecturer to on-air commentator.
