Ben Chase

Ben Chase is the Managing Director of IDEO.org's Equity Practice, focused on fighting poverty in the US. He builds partnerships, guides project teams, and charts a course for IDEO.org’s New York studio to make an impact on local and national challenges. The Equity Practice’s work spans financial inclusion, reducing homelessness, and mental health. Prior to IDEO.org, Ben was a Senior Strategy Director at Purpose, a mission-driven consultancy building social movements, brands, and campaigns on issues such as gun violence and air quality. Previously, Ben served as a policy advisor in the New York City Mayor’s Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability, focusing on public health and waste management. He began his career as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he directed operations in the U.S. and abroad. Ben holds an MFA with honors in design and technology from Parsons School of Design and an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.
