Yoichi Ochiai

Media Artist, Yoichi Ochiai, completed the University of Tokyo GSII (Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies) course in 2015 and received his PhD in record time. A DC1 Level Special Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, he completed a stint as a Research Intern at Microsoft Research after which in 2015 he became an Assistant Professor of Faculty of Library Information and Media Science at the University of Tsukuba and Principal Investigator of their Digital Nature Group. He founded and is CEO of Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc. He is the head and associate professor of the Strategic Research Platform towards Digital Nature. He also holds the positions of adjunct to the President of Tsukuba University. His expertise is in the field of CG, HCI, VR, visual, auditory and tactile presentation methods, digital fabrications, autonomous driving and body control. He is a JST CREST member and is an xDiversity as well as a JST A-STEP researcher.
