Susan Penfield

Susan Penfield is the Booz Allen's Chief Innovation Officer and the leader of the Strategic Innovation Group (SIG). The SIG creates value for the firm and our clients by cultivating functional talent and capabilities, developing integrated solutions, and investing in big bets to seed next generation businesses. Under Susan’s leadership, the SIG is accelerating a solutions business that develops integrated, leading edge technology-based products and solutions that are backed by market demand signals. Susan's work also scales innovative capabilities across the firm to drive growth and develops strategies to scale, deepen, and retain the firm’s functional talent base.

Susan led the firm’s reinvigoration of its culture of innovation and opened Booz Allen’s DC Innovation Center—a physical embodiment of our commitment to innovation. Through the Innovation Center and its network of Innovation Hubs, the firm engages in the external innovation ecosystem to identify partnerships and emerging technologies to create original solutions to our clients’ toughest problems.

Susan was recently recognized as one of the top 25 executives to watch in 2019 by WashingtonExec magazine for her pioneering work driving technology innovation in government.
