Bechara Choucair

Bechara Choucair, MD, serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Community Health Officer for Kaiser Permanente, one of America’s leading integrated health care providers and not-for-profit health plans. Recently named one of the Top 50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders for 2018 by Modern Health Care, Dr. Choucair oversees Kaiser Permanente’s national community health and benefit efforts and philanthropic giving activities aimed at improving the health of its 12.3 million members and the 68 million people within the communities it serves. Earlier this year, Dr. Choucair led Kaiser Permanente’s gun-violence prevention research commitment. As part of this public health initiative, he is a co-lead on the Kaiser Permanente Taskforce on Firearm Injury Prevention. Additionally, Dr. Choucair announced Kaiser Permanente’s $200 million impact investing commitment to support affordable housing and prevent displacement among vulnerable populations - a precursor to homelessness.
