Casper Klynge
Since September 2017, Casper Klynge is Denmark’s & the world’s first Tech Ambassador spearheading the Government’s decision to elevate technology to a foreign policy priority as part of the ‘TechPlomacy-initiative’. Working out of Silicon Valley, Casper has a global mandate with part of his team sitting in Copenhagen and in Beijing thus rethinking the traditional understanding of a diplomatic representation. Before leading the Tech-representation, Casper served as Ambassador of Denmark to Indonesia, Timor Leste, Papua New Guinea & ASEAN (2014-2017) and to the Republic of Cyprus (2013-2014). Prior to that, Casper worked in several positions within the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as the Senior Civilian Representative / Deputy Head of NATO’s multinational Helmand Provincial Reconstruction Team in Afghanistan (2010-2011), and as Head of the European Union’s civilian crisis management mission in Kosovo (2006-2008).
