Atossa Araxia Abrahamian is a senior editor at The Nation and the author of The Cosmopolites: The Coming of the Global Citizen, a book about statelessness and the global market for passports that was a New York Times editor’s pick. Her writing on immigration, citizenship, borders and other issues has appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, and the London Review of Books, amongst other publications. Atossa grew up in Geneva, Switzerland and studied philosophy as an undergraduate at Columbia, where she returned for a master's program in investigative reporting. She lives in Brooklyn with her boyfriend and their dog.
