Ebony Underwood
Ebony Underwood, Founder & CEO of WE GOT US NOW, is a social entrepreneur, content creator, activist and Soros Justice fellow at the forefront of reform initiatives supporting children of incarcerated parents.
As a daughter of an incarcerated parent, Ebony‘s interest in this advocacy work is personal and pivotal. She's published op-ed articles in Huffington Post, Vibe & Mic & has been featured in Teen Vogue highlighting the devastating impact of mass incarceration on children and families. Since 2016, she has spearheaded and produced the Google digital campaign, #LoveLetters, to demonstrate the unbreakable bond between a child & their incarcerated parent on Mothers & Fathers Day.
Underwood is a leading voice for the millions of children and young adults impacted by parental incarceration. She has been invited to the White House several times and has been a featured speaker at criminal justice reform summits, conferences and universities, including Yale Law School, Columbia Law School, NYU Law School, American Law School, John Jay School of Criminal Justice, Sing Sing State Prison & Google.
In 2018, she joined the Board of Directors of the Sentencing Project and is featured in the book, The Meaning of Life & #EndLifeImprisonment campaign.
