Marcos Gonzalez
Deep expertise in investing, entrepreneurship and technology for social equity, with a focus on Latinx/diverse communities.
In 2017, Marcos founded VamosVentures to invest in and partner with diverse tech entrepreneurs. Studies show that diverse teams perform above average and that great ideas and talent can come from anywhere and anyone; yet are routinely overlooked by established investment funds. This creates a problem and an opportunity. VamosVentures’ mandate is to deliver returns to its investors while creating economic security (wealth, jobs, experience) and empowerment (unique tech solutions, exposure to STEM, role models) for diverse and vulnerable communities.
Marcos began his career at The Boston Consulting Group working across industries in Latin America and the USA. He later joined The Global Environment Fund, a DC-based investment fund for environmentally sustainable investments and most recently co-led the investment practice for the high-growth US Hispanic consumer market at Darby Private Equity. In between his investment fund experience, Marcos co-founded a tech company in Boston, raising $10mm from VCs and strategic investors before selling the company after five years of operation.
Marcos was born in Los Angeles to Mexican immigrant parents, graduated from Brown University, earned an MBA from Harvard, and now resides in Pasadena California. Marcos can be reached at Marcos@VamosVentures.com.
