As Vice President, Emerging Technology at the NBA, Scott Stanchak leads a team focused on building new consumer products and experiences in innovative digital technology spaces, including artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, chatbots, and voice. He's also responsible for identifying and evaluating new digital opportunities and developing features to enhance the way fans consume the game of basketball.
Prior to rejoining the NBA in May 2017, Stanchak spent more than three years at The New York Times, where he led The Times' entrance into the mobile subscription business, oversaw marketing for all "beta" products, and directed innovation – including content, product and monetization – across all non-owned channels, including Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google.
His experience developing and executing digital strategy extends more than 15 years and includes brands such as Avis Budget Group, AT&T, and a previous stint at the NBA.
